Due to SwaggerCraft's booming popularity, I am going to be upgrading the server from 4GB of ram to 6GB. We'll probably be able to hold 125 players at one time, maybe more.
Unfortunately I am going to be switching hosts which means I'll have to download all the files...then upload them. This will probably take me about a day. I'm going to take the server offline and download all server files over night (Pacific Time Zone, going to be around 10pm). I'll then start the upload to the new host while I'm at school. This will take a few hours though, longer than the download. I might leave the server online but whitelisted with a message explaining what's going on.
We have been using HostAltitude for almost all of the time SwaggerCraft has been online. They have been very helpful and pretty solid. They also gave me a discount on my monthly payments because I was transferred from a company with lower rates that they bought. I'm sad to part ways but I feel like switching to BeastNode is the best thing to do. BeastNode's 6GB plan is over $20 cheaper a month than HostAltitude's. Both hosts use the exact same processor so that shouldn't be an issue.
Now if only HostAltitude would stop having problems. I can't start the server let alone start my download of backups.
lol good idea laserlag :). i cant wait !!!
