Minecraft 1.4 and Map Reset Plans

Minecraft 1.4 is scheduled to be released on October 24th. As many of you know, a map reset has been planned to somewhat coincide with this. Keep in mind that it will take time (probably weeks) for Bukkit and our necessary plugins to update. Please refrain from updating or keep a backup of 1.3.2 if you want to continue playing SwaggerCraft during this period.

With all that being said, I'll outline the major plans for the reset.

• Obviously the map will be reset. Wiped. New seed, freshly generated. The only thing carried over will be Spawn and our crappy arena. Side note: If you want to build a better arena (shouldn't be hard) then let me know. Maybe if I get several submissions I'll put them on the website and have people vote.
• In-game money will be reset. Everyone will be set back to default (100). This is happening because of all the item duplicating that has taken place. Money has never been reset so all the duping that has taken place over the year has screwed up the money economy so much. Spend your money now while you have it.
• Ranked players will be able to transfer 9 items (plus armor/hat) to the new map. This will be done with the backpack plugin. Again, item duping has screwed everything up. Limiting it to ranked players, and 9 items at that, will stop (most) players from loading up alts with likely duped items and bringing these items back into circulation. 
• mcMMO levels will not change. Everyone will keep their levels. 
• No changes to obsidian/TNT will be made at this time. I frankly don't have enough time right now to test and balance things. It is a possibility in the future. 

These plans are subject to change. The date for the reset has not been set - it depends on when Bukkit and plugins get updated. 

P.S. I don't develop plugins so don't ask me when such-and-such will be updated :P

P.P.S I'm still looking for cool staff members. Hopefully I can find some to help after the reset.

New help room + other updates!

Fwooo that was a long day. I just put in a solid 11 or so hours working on SwaggerCraft stuff. Anyways, here is the changelog!

-New room for newbs! Accessible via "/warp help". Inside are self-refilling chests that give out little mini-guides. Right now the books explain the [Ranks], website/online information, plugins, and FAQs. I am looking to include a chest for community submitted books. If you're interested, please write one up using good spelling and grammar and save it for me to take a look at. Another note on these books... if you are caught dropping loads of them everywhere, you will be tempbanned for 1 day. There is a disposal sign in the help room so be a bro and use that.

-/clearinventory (/ci) is back! We did some testing and it looks like the exploit (if it ever even existed) is gone.

-You are now auto-marked AFK after idling for 10 minutes. You are now auto-kicked after being idle for 15 minutes. This is to prevent and discourage people from going AFK in their grinders, spawning a ton of mobs, and lagging up the area and/or the server. I strongly discourage everyone from using auto-join mods. I may start banning for that soon.

-You can now only set home at a bed at night.

-I might have left something out... can't think. Brain and eyes are dead. That really took 11 hours... I'm slow...

New voting rewards system!

I'm using a new plugin that changes how voting rewards are handled! The new system adds the element of chance but also allows for greater rewards (if you're lucky :P).

This might be kind of confusing... When you vote, you have a chance of your "roll" being one of the following categories. You'll then get a random amount of 1 type of item in that category. Note that each category has its own minimum and maximum amounts it will give out.

"Average" Items: 60% chance
Minimum amount: 3
Maximum amount: 8

• TNT
• Bottle o' Enchanting
• Obsidian

"Good" Items: 34%
Minimum amount: 2
Maximum amount: 5

• Diamond
• Emerald Ore
• Iron Ingot

"Very Good" Items: 5%

Minimum amount: 1

Maximum amount: 3

• Diamond Block
• Emerald Block
• Sponge
• Ghast Tear

"Super Rare" Items: 1%

Minimum amount: 1

Maximum amount: 1

• Mooshroom Egg
• Ocelot Egg
• Chain Armor Pieces

As with all new features, I welcome any feedback. The rewards might see some further tweaking in the coming days.

New ban policy in effect + still looking for more Staff

-As announced in the /motd and in the scheduled broadcasts, the new ban policy is in effect. As it reads in-game:

NEW BAN POLICY: If you are caught using extreme hacks (aimbot, vclip, etc), and there is defintive evidence, you will not get to appeal your ban. Punishment will be 1 month minimum.

What I consider "extreme" hacks are those that are maliciously installed to influence PvP and raiding. Thus forcefield, vclip, aimbot, and freecam are all considered "extreme". There is no other reason for using/installing those other than to cheat. Sprint toggle and autoequip are NOT extreme (though still illegal) in my book as they are included in mods that are not used specifically to cheat. If you are caught using extreme hacks, you will be gone for at least a month. Depending on your history you might be permanently banned. If you haven't noticed, we are cracking down hard on hackers.

Ladders + Anti-Relog tag time

-The ladders have been removed from the border around the Spawn safezone/warzone. Since everyone gained access to /spawn awhile back, they just aren't needed as much. The glass wall still remains though to prevent ranged combat while crouching on the edge.

-Anti-Relog tag time has been raised to 20 seconds (used to be 12). This will take effect on the next server restart.

-That reminds me. The server restart schedule was changed slightly. It is now every 6 hours instead of every 3 hours. The times are 12AM, 6AM, 12PM, 6PM. The restart schedule is back to every 3 hours, starting at midnight.These times are Pacific Standard. You can use the clock on the right sidebar to determine when the server will restart as it is the right timezone.
