1.2 Plans

As most of you know, Minecraft 1.2 was released today and so was Bukkit-R6 (no idea what happened to R5 :P). And, as most of you know, I am going to be generating a new map to take advantage of the 1.2 terrain features. Plus the map was pretty crappy looking anyway. Here is an explanation of my plan that I will rolling out over the next few days.


  1. I will be updating the server to Bukkit-R6 (1.2 compatible) in the next few days. I will also be applying updates for plugins that make them 1.2 compatible. If no updates are available for a plugin then that plugin may be temporarily disabled until there is. Thankfully, major plugins like Factions and mcMMO already have Bukkit-R6 updates out. When I update the server to 1.2 I will also install the virtual chest plugin. This will allow you to store your items so you can transfer them to the new map. 
  2. We will run 1.2 for at least a few days to ensure that everything is running smoothly and to give people time to save their items in their virtual chest(s). Then I will delete the current map and generate a new one. Everything in your inventory and virtual chest(s) will be in tact and accessible in the new map.
  3. After a few days to a week, I will remove the virtual chest plugin. SwaggerCraft will be back to a state of less chaos and people can raid to their heart's content.

    ok so since i accidently udated to 1.2 i will be able to get on and get my stuff.?

    Yes. That is another reason why we will run 1.2 for a few days before resetting the map. You will have time to get on and save your stuff :)

      when will we be able to get on? and if i die will the items in my virtual chest be lost?

    I will try to update to 1.2 either tomorrow or the next day. And no, dying will not cause you to lose your items in the v chest.

    I dont get how we will fit all our stuff in our inventory. Will we still have all of our stuff?

    Did you read my post? There will be a virtual chest plugin installed. This let's you bring up an extra inventory screen by typing a command. I'm still looking for a viable virtual chest plugin but you should have plenty of room to transfer things.

    No worries haha. It can be confusing :P I'm trying to find one that gives you multiple "virtual chests".
